Damien

From a tender age of six, Damien Highfield's profound ardor for Terpsichore took root during his formative training at BalletMet, nestled in his natal city of Columbus, Ohio. His initial foray into the percussive intricacies of clogging and the vibrant rhythms of disco soon yielded to an unwavering dedication to the classical discipline of ballet. His nascent professional trajectory commenced with JazzMet, the resident jazz performance ensemble of BalletMet, and subsequently with BalletMet itself.

Mr. Highfield further cultivated his artistic and academic pursuits at Butler University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts, complemented by a minor in Business. During this period, he enriched his performance repertoire as a principal dancer with Butler Ballet. He graced the stages of numerous esteemed dance and opera companies as a guest artist, including the Fort Wayne Ballet.

Upon graduation, his professional endeavors led him to the Atlanta Ballet before returning to his native Ohio to join the Ohio Ballet under the distinguished directorship of Jeffrey Graham Hughes. Concurrent with his tenure at Ohio Ballet, Mr. Highfield's artistry was sought by companies nationwide, including Dayton Ballet, Jörgen Dance, Charleston Ballet, The Bang Group, Divalo Dance, and GroundWorks DanceTheater. He culminated his distinguished professional performing career with GroundWorks DanceTheater.

Presently, Mr. Highfield channels his entrepreneurial spirit as the co-proprietor of Stage Center and Footsteps, esteemed dance apparel boutiques situated in Northeast Ohio. Simultaneously, he remains a vital presence in the dance community, generously imparting his passion and expertise through guest performances, pedagogical engagements encompassing teaching and master classes, and the creation of original choreographic works.

Drawing upon over four decades immersed in the art of dance, Damien elevates the craft of Pointe shoe fitting to an advanced level. His extensive eight-year tenure meticulously fitting aspiring dancers across Northeast Ohio, coupled with specialized training, culminates in a uniquely insightful approach. By seamlessly integrating his profound understanding of dance anatomy, Damien offers a fitting experience unparalleled in its precision and expertise.
